Marathon

Exuma Marathon

The starting line is at Regatta Park in downtown George Town, Great Exuma

The Exuma Marathon, celebrating the life of the slave Pompey who led a rebellion on Exuma in 1830, truly has something for everyone. There are six races for all ages and abilities, from the 2K George Town Dash around Victoria Harbor — perfect for kids or anyone ready for a short run — to the professionally timed 50K Ultra Marathon better known as the Run for Pompey for those 18 and over. All proceeds benefit the Pompey Scholarship presented to a deserving student to attend college or university.

Regatta

National Family Island Regatta

The starting line is at Regatta Park in downtown George Town, Great Exuma

One of the world’s largest natural harbors and a favorite of yachtsmen, Elizabeth Harbor becomes the gathering place for Bahamian boat builders and sailors ready to compete in their traditional wooden sloops for the title “Best in the Bahamas.” In addition to cheering on the competitors as they sail for the finish, you’ll be treated to fun-filled days of activities from parties and pageants to volleyball tournaments and of course delicious local cuisine. A tradition that started in 1954 and is now celebrated every year.

There may not be a more idyllic course for this cycling fundraiser in support of The Exuma Foundation. In addition to the 70K Great Exuma Charity Bike Ride, there is a Community Ride as well as a 50K fun ride starting right here at Grand Isle. We are proud to be a sponsor of this exciting cycling fundraiser for the local community and to offer special rates for participants.
